Hi my name is Dionne and I am the mother of two grown kids,  my daughter Shanna and my son Michael.  I love to cook and have been in the kitchen since I was a little girl.  I learned early on that it was better to be in the kitchen making something delicious than being out in the Texas heat melting.  I almost never follow the directions on a recipe, I have to put my own spin on it and make it my own.  My husband used to ask why I was always buying new cookbooks if I never follow the recipe, well my answer was, “I have to know how to start a  recipe to make it, then I make it my own.” I also like making crafts and reading two things I have  done all my life.

I love my church, WoodsEdge Community Church and am proud to say that it is the BEST in the world.  I run the Special Needs Ministry for all of our beautiful children that God chose to bless these families with.  I love these families and their children and feel very lucky that I get to work with them.  I also teach 1 year old’s in our preschool and am a Respite for one of the beautiful girls in my Special Needs Ministry at her home.

I have also been a caregiver for the last 18 years and believe that all I have gone through is so I can be there to help someone else walk this path I’ve been down.  Briefly my son had cancer at 7, a Bone Marrow Transplant at 8 and was on his death-bed (0% chance to survive).  My daughter has had a chronic illness for the past 13 years, one of 3 chronic illness, and my husband who is no longer with us had Alzheimer’s.

God brought me and my family through all of this with FAITH and PRAYERS.  I learned many lessons during these trials and if I can give hope to 1 person that you can get through it then it is all worth it.

Love your family, love life, pray often and smile.  🙂
